“Well Done” or ” I Never Knew You”…Which Do You Want To Hear?

“Love is an action, not a feeling. Love is a choice. In fact, love is a commandment.” —Mack Timberlake

Matthew 7:23 NIV Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Luke 19:17 NLT “‘Well done!’ the king exclaimed. ‘You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’

So, which would you rather hear Jesus say to you? “I never knew you.” or ” Well Done!” ? Which response is your life directing you to possibly hear?

I hope your answer would be the obvious…”Well Done!”.

I believe the difference in which response we could get from Christ is based on our willingness to surrender ourselves to the Will of God and begin living our lives in and through His Love.

To be honest, the bar has been set. The goal already established. If we have not love, we have nothing, we are nothing. (1 Corinthians 13). For no matter which way you want to look at it, God is love. And if you don’t have love, well, can you truly say you know God or belong to Him?

I’m not talking about that “love” we learned from the world. You know, that love that changes at every new and exciting thing that passes our eyes or thoughts. Or that love we believe we can either buy, steal, manipulate, lie or cheat our way to.

No, I’m talking about that love that is born from a committed, intentional relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The love that is freely given by God, where all we have to do is accept it and allow it to flow in and through us to others.

Maybe you haven’t thought about what Christ will say to you when you meet Him face to face. My constant prayer is that when I see Him, He knows me as His own. What about you?

May you be encouraged and challenged to live to hear Him say, “Well Done!”.
