We Have Been Forgiven…

God has cast our confessed sins into the depths of the sea, and He’s even put a “No Fishing” sign over the spot. — Dwight L. Moody

Numbers 14:19 NLT 19 In keeping with your magnificent, unfailing love, please pardon the sins of this people, just as you have forgiven them ever since they left Egypt.”

Ephesians 1:3-8 NIV 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that God is not keeping a laundry list of our failures, mistakes and sins, that we sincerely lay at His throne of mercy and grace?

Unfortunately, its hard for us to realize and accept this because its hard for us to forget our failures, mistakes and sins and especially those of others. We continue to stay trapped and enslaved by them, instead of living in freedom and living from victory. Our potential and growth are inhibited due to our inability to accept God’s love, mercy and grace.

Despite what we feel or believe, God is not wasting His time keeping track of our confessed sins and mistakes. He gave us Jesus to show us that our sins can be thrown in the Sea of Forgetfulness, never to be used against us.

In accepting Christ as our Lord, Savior and Redeemer, we have taken a major step in the conversion process where we are being changed daily, into new creations. Ones where we no longer desire to live apart from God and understand that our sinful nature is being purged from us. This is a process that God implements through the Holy Spirit.

As Believers and God’s Children, we are no longer condemned, but eternally pardoned. We are no longer victims, but victors. We are no longer slaves to sin but free from its power, control and penalties.

And the great thing about all of this is that this was all made possible by our Heavenly Father, His Son and His Spirit. All we have to do is believe, accept and receive God’s Grace and Mercy each day.

May God show you that you are free and forgiven as you praise and thank Him today.

We are indeed blessed!
