1 John 5:20-21 NLT 20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. 21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

A personal, intimate, committed relationship with Jesus, then with the Holy Spirit, allows us to have the relationship with God that is pleasing to Him and critical to us for abundant, joyful and eternal life.

Its not doctrine or religion that causes us to fall in love with Jesus, but the desire to want to love Him, because He showed His love for us on the Cross.

Its not duty or obligation that fills our hearts to serve, give and help others; its the love of God, shown through Jesus and confirmed by the Holy Spirit.

If you are struggling in going to church, in praying, in serving, in giving, in helping others, in living and having joy, simply ask yourself this: “Am I in love with Jesus?”

If you are not, then I urge you to read the Gospels and the book of Psalms, for they tell you of why God loves you and I.  And God just doesn’t talk about loving you and I, He actually showed us.

Love is action and feelings and emotions.  Love spurs the person in love to act, not just sit.  Love brings joy to the person in love and drives them to do.  Rules and regulations and doctrine and religion cannot sustain the ability to do. For lasting, committed action is born out of the heart, not the head.

I pray today that you will fall in love with Jesus deeper today than you did yesterday and that this love increases exponentially in you each day.  For only in Christ will you find the love of a lifetime.

God bless.
