Worship was never meant to be an event. It was meant to be a lifestyle.” – Dr. Tony Evans
John 4:23-24 NLT 23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
In the life of Believers, worship should be an on-going part of our lives. Something not just reserved for Sunday mornings. I must admit that I love gathering with other Believers and “worshipping” our Lord and Savior. But that is not where it should only occur nor can that be where worship stops.
Now the word “worship” can either be used as a noun or as a verb. It is its use as a verb that I am sharing about today.
On the site, Dictionary.com, “worship” as a verb is defined as: to feel an adoring reverence or regard for. In thinking about this definition, its hard to confine worshipping God to one day or even one moment in time. For if I do revere God and adore Him, or in other words, love Him, then worshipping Him is/should be on-going, at all times, in all situations and thru all circumstances.
I wonder what would happen if we/Believers, didn’t wait for Sunday mornings or the church building, to worship God? I wonder what the Spirit of God would do, not only in our lives, but in the lives of those around us, when they see us worshipping Almighty God, everywhere, anytime, at any place?

Now, I’m talking about true worship, not putting on a quasi-spiritual show, trying to prove our spirituality or importance.
No, “worshipping in spirit and truth”, begins with first having a humble and repented heart. Understanding that all that we are, all that we have and who we will become, is because of Christ. Second, it is having a spirit of gratefulness and thankfulness. Again, if it wasn’t for Christ, we wouldn’t have a right relationship with God. Lastly, at least for this discussion, is to have a heart of love for God. Not that love that exists only when we feel or believe He is giving us all that we want or desire, but the selfless love that surrenders all that we have and are to His Will for our lives.
My prayer is that we truly learn to worship God, in spirit and in truth. I can’t help but think how important it may be to those who are struggling in this life, to see the true Church of Christ, stand up and be the vessels of His light to this world.
Have a wonderful time in worship today and everyday.
God Bless
