Truer words have never been spoken. The Jews were familiar with the stories of Yahweh and His mighty miracles. The Greeks were skeptical and proud of it. Both unbelieving sides bombarded Christ during His day and His followers afterward with questions designed to undermine the claims of God.  Jesus never took the bait and neither should we. Paul’s explanation let us know what we can expect from the carnal minded — a demand for a sign or a long list of questions fueled by doubt, fear and innate rebellion against the things of God.

The Spirit of God is sufficient to speak to the hearts and minds of those that are true seekers. He is also aware of those that have their hearts and minds set on blasphemous thoughts toward the truth. We should be equipped to answer questions that actually seek answers, but we should never waste time entertaining mockery and non sequiturs.
