Some would say that knowing how the trick is done, destroys the show or act and/or the mystery and awe of the performance.  However, I still find it interesting and now look for how many magicians develop new and different ways to perform their magic.  After all, its just entertainment…Correct?

Why bring this subject up this morning?  Because the same concepts of the magician to misdirect, distract and devise ways to trick us, are the very same concepts that Satan uses to fool and captivate our minds and lives.  Just like the magician, Satan uses others and various situations to divert our attention in a different direction so that we are no longer aware of what he is really up to.

We know that the Bible tells us that our enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, seeking those he can devour, and to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10, 1 Peter 5:8). So his purpose is clear, and therefore, we must be on watch, looking to reveal his tricks.

Pray without ceasing. Read, study and meditate on the Word of God, then do what the Holy Spirit gives you understanding and wisdom to do. Obey and trust God.  Rest in Jesus and the victory that He won for us.  All the enemy has is tricks. God has the power and because we are His, we have access to His power to.

That as a Believer, the storms that come and go are not punishment from God for something I didn’t get right.  Failure is not an option to a Child of God, because there is no failure in Christ. And as long as we are satisfied with our righteousness through Christ, our salvation through Christ, our redemption through Christ and that we are being made perfect through Christ for God’s glory, then like Paul, we can be content in and through all things.

We can never reach God’s standards by anything we are capable of doing.  I believe that is why Christ ask us to come to him and lay down our burdens and take His yoke. (Matthew 11:28-30) For Jesus has met all of God’s requirements for us. Therefore, we can rest in Him and enjoy the hope of eternal life with Christ.

We can’t truly love someone if we are not willing to open up to that person in total honesty.

Take the time today to give everything to God. Trust Him with your secret thoughts, fears and desires and ask Him to purify your thoughts and heart. God is faithful to do just that. Once we surrender all to God, He in turn will fill us with all of Him.

Now the key is believing God will not remember our past transgressions or hold them against us to someday, throw them in our face. Satan wants to keep our past in front of us so that we can never move forward to the glory and victory that is ours because of Christ. But we must purpose in our hearts, that the Blood of Jesus, has indeed washed us and made us new and whole again. We no longer have to worry about an Accuser, because our record has been wiped clean.
