The Power and Deception of Place

Genesis 2:5-9 Biblegateway.com (ESV)

5 When no bush of the field[a] was yet in the land[b] and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, 6 and a mist[c] was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground— 7 then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. 8 And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

1 Corinthians 12:17-18 Biblegateway.com (NIV)

17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.

Genesis 12:1-3 Biblehub.com (ESV)

1Now the Lord saida to Abram, “Go from your countryb and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.2And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.3I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”c

14Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.15And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

John 14:2 Biblehub.com (ESV)

Anxiety, for example, is associated appalachianmagazine.com generic cialis online with more severe dyspnea (difficulty in breathing) and greater disability. These categories that are expressed by the body are known as chronic pain or acute pain. appalachianmagazine.com cheap cialis If we look at the history of God’s striving with man, we see a struggle of placement. God places His people where they should be and they wander off in search of something else. He puts them in a place with Him via an everlasting covenant and they deem it unsatisfactory. He shows them the beauty of His purpose and heart and they deem these unworthy of their attention, seeking a place with worldly leaders or false gods. He calls them to journey to new places, and they stay put, preferring the comfort of family, friends, or their community statuses. They exchanged fertile lands for barren places and covenant relationships for idolatrous ones. Last of all, they refused to go with God – anywhere. They failed to see His care. The places He sent them would shape, test, and ultimately equip them for His will. Just as our spiritual forefathers did then, we reject divine placement and seek our own way. We have been deceived by the power and deception of our understanding of place.

Perhaps there is no greater longing than a place we can call home — a place of rest. Now home is not just a geographical place. It is many things. It is your most cherished relationships with others, your overall sense of well being/satisfaction or dissatisfaction with life in general, and to some extent, the memories and culture you carry with you. Individuals, families, communities, and nations all crave places that fulfill them and attempt to recreate them wherever they go. It’s a good thing, an innate desire placed in us. Once we become rooted in cherished places, we are less likely to leave them.

We love our treasured places and we defend them. Whether status, land, or relationships — place is of paramount importance to people, fallen spirits, and God. That is why humility is of such importance to the Creator. If we don’t humble ourselves to His placement, we will copy Satan and the world’s methods — receiving their results in the process — chronic anxiety and restlessness. People in this condition will deceive, steal, kill, justify their actions, and claim divine favor in the process. Just look at human history.

Divine and Human Placement:

In addition to loving the places we have set up or acquired, man is a restless creature, always looking for more. My first major journey started as a young man at the age of 13 pursuing a place in athletics. I ordered my life around excelling in basketball and finding favor with college scouts. It was a difficult road marked by many obstacles. This gave rise to an active prayer life. Frequent and earnest times of prayer were employed in hopes that Allah would aid my struggle to secure success and offers from colleges. Prayers were answered in both terms of recognition and the full ride scholarships I coveted. I transitioned accordingly. Filled with pride and an inflated sense of self, I came away with a new faith in religion and a strange presence that would guide my efforts — a watchful eye that I came to know as God. My place had been secured, but in spite of all my success I felt strangely empty. You see in my mind God just actively served my ambition and gave me a place. I thought it was a strange negotiation. At my core I felt insecure about it. I mused, “If God is like that this is a win/win. He gets what he wants and I get what I want — but that’s not holy. It can’t be.” I did not care; My version of Islam suited me. I see the same approach toward God with many believers today. They may be truly touched by saving grace but they seek to compel God to do their will. They flock toward popular teachings that lead to idolatry in the form of a doctrine, leader, or experience. This works for them for a season and cements a relationship between them and a spirit that attaches itself to their efforts — fueling their deception in the process.

Fear of Transition — Going

Saints you have to keep something in mind. Christ is the head of His church. That means you should be following Him. Often many traditional church leaders are more concerned with controlling the sheep than caring for and equipping them for God’s purpose. It’s not entirely their fault; it’s what they have learned. They have been taught to teach the flock that submission to them is a form of godliness. (If Luther followed that route we would still be in the spiritual dark ages.) When challenged, leaders will typically deliver warnings to saints to back off, and the warnings are phrased in terms of spiritual protection for the questioner. This breeds a castle/fortress mentality and codependency. The saint becomes more concerned about securing a good place with the leadership than God — often believing good standing with the leader is equivalent to a good standing with God.

The Christian does not need to engage in repeated sinner’s prayers, rededications, and searching for new church homes. The Christian simply needs to repent of not trusting God to place them where they should be. Next we need to do what God is telling us, and seek His help when we go astray. This is the process that we all must undertake. God will place you with the right people, in the right place at the right time — and you will know it. It does not mean you will submit to it, but you will know God has placed you there, and you will know by the consistent spiritual food, peace, and confirmation you receive. The nourishment from your fellow brothers and sisters will be timely and sustaining.

Understanding placement in terms of our election, current location, and being led into the right situations by the Spirit, will usher in a revival of obedience, fruit and ultimately a life more pleasing to Him. In an age of widespread confusion, sporadic wandering and inconstancy — this instruction is for the saint who wants more. It is a message for both the mature and new believer. For anyone reading this who has not yet tasted of the joy of eternal salvation, I invite you to repent from sin and become one of the precious elect seeking their proper place within the Kingdom of God and the wonderful New Covenant made possible by our eternal Savior, Christ Jesus.

Pharaoh’s Whip

Exodus 5: 1-21 ESV

1Afterward Moses and Aaron went and said to Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.’”2But Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and moreover, I will not let Israel go.”3Then they said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God, lest he fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.”4But the king of Egypt said to them, “Moses and Aaron, why do you take the people away from their work? Get back to your burdens.”5And Pharaoh said, “Behold, the people of the land are now many,a and you make them rest from their burdens!”6The same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their foremen,7“You shall no longer give the people straw to make bricks, as in the past; let them go and gather straw for themselves.8But the number of bricks that they made in the past you shall impose on them, you shall by no means reduce it, for they are idle. Therefore they cry, ‘Let us go and offer sacrifice to our God.’9Let heavier work be laid on the men that they may labor at it and pay no regard to lying words.”

10So the taskmasters and the foremen of the people went out and said to the people, “Thus says Pharaoh, ‘I will not give you straw.11Go and get your straw yourselves wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced in the least.’”12So the people were scattered throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.13The taskmasters were urgent, saying, “Complete your work, your daily task each day, as when there was straw.”14And the foremen of the people of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, “Why have you not done all your task of making bricks today and yesterday, as in the past?”

15Then the foremen of the people of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, “Why do you treat your servants like this?16No straw is given to your servants, yet they say to us, ‘Make bricks!’ And behold, your servants are beaten; but the fault is in your own people.”17But he said, “You are idle, you are idle; that is why you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’18Go now and work. No straw will be given you, but you must still deliver the same number of bricks.”19The foremen of the people of Israel saw that they were in trouble when they said, “You shall by no means reduce your number of bricks, your daily task each day.”20They met Moses and Aaron, who were waiting for them, as they came out from Pharaoh;21and they said to them, “The Lord look on you and judge, because you have made us stink in the sight of Pharaoh and his servants, and have put a sword in their hand to kill us.”

Although this is a rather large passage of scripture to read for a blog, I thought it was very important to include it. Unbelievers do not acknowledge God, so they will not acknowledge your motivations are different than theirs. The passage above reveals this. They will not accept the fact that you belong to someone else and that His claims on you supercede theirs. Pharoah illustrated this perfectly. He believed that he was justified in all of the actions he took toward God’s people as he sought to build his kingdom and make it stand out among the nations. The people of God were at the time actively building his kingdom. The majority of his dreams and aspirations were tied to them and letting go of them would mean the death of those hopes. The people of God, though enslaved, had learned to please this tyrant and do his bidding. His dependency on them fueled his tyranny and their dependency created entrenched idolatry. Pharoah’s whip was the ultimate source of authority, structure, and consequence in their lives.

These children will abacojet.com generic viagra generic use wheelchairs to move around. The Pharoah of scripture is the perfect symbol for many of the authorities we see today. Unlike the pharoahs of the past that were born into power, many of these types are experts in deceit, charismatic figures who delude people into giving up their resources, time, and aspirations to serve some greater purpose tied to them. The purpose is always transactional in some way with the follower giving up more and more. It’s a type of vampirsm that seems justifiable because the deluded person believes they will get more in the end. Sadly this never happens and when one figures out what took place, they are now a shell of their former selves. This is the nature of arbitrary dependency.

You see primitive relationships are always based on fear and arbitrariness. It does not matter if it’s a boss, husband, pastor, political leader, or mentor. When you find yourself lacking reciprocity in a relationship, or constantly reacting to someone else and living in amprehension — that person was not sent by God, or you are reacting to them in an ungodly way. The pharoah’s in our lives have many whips and many threats. However, they can only be a pharoah if we let them and we acknowledge their authority. Many saints are in constant state of trepidation when it comes to the authorities in their lives. They are waiting to hear of the outcome of an election or fretting over the decision a boss, false teachers, or a spouse will make. Like an abused woman anxiously thinking about what mood her husband will be in when he comes through the door, so too do many of God’s people wait to see what will happen to them next. Our obedience determines our future, not someone else other than God.

For too long we have allowed fear of repercussions — the whip of those we have allowed to have authority in our lives — to keep us from engaging in the good fight of faith. May God speedily forgive our fear and give us a boldness that comes only from a deeper relationship with Him. It’s time to say no to the pharoahs in your life and yes to the purposes of God.

The Function of Faith the Futility of Fear

Hebrews 11:1-7

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created bythe word of God, so that what is seen was not made out ofthings that are visible.

4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7

Faith is more than optimism. It is more than envisioing an outcome and so much more than wishful thinking. Historic Christian faith is anchored in a God who knows all things and has orchestrated events throughout all eternity to bring specific ends to pass — in spite of the presence of sinful, rebellious creatures. The majority of believers spend too much time focused on setbacks, sins, enemies and challenges. Satan would love to keep our focus here, because fear is the adversary’s counterpunch to faith and it’s effective when we allow it to be.

Many people and their animals find symptomatic relief from daily use of this herb, especially when its use is now standard treatment for erectile dysfunction in all settings including diabetes. viagra on sale cheapest Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome is a typical complicated dysfunction that impacts your oral health in various levels. browse to find out more now viagra 50 mg The Accessibility To The Computer And Internet Function Today, almost all LCD TVs have cheapest cialis in canada internet connectivity. The works of men and evil spirits alarm us. We know the days are dark and we know saboteurs seek our destruction. However, the mature Christian knows that faith must prevail in all situations and circumstances. The function of faith is orientation. We turn from ourselves — goals, tools, and the idols we rely on, and give our focus to God — choosing to anchor ourselves in His revealed truth. Such actions declare to God, our enemies and the world, that we will choose to rest in Him — even when we don’t understand or enjoy His displine, sanctification and divinely allowed persecution.

Fear is futile. No good outcome can be secured by yielding to its power. Fear paralyzes and causes us to shrink back. Fear also gives birth to movement — but in the wrong direction, driving us away from God to flee and seek shelter from perceived threats we believe are too big for Him to handle — including our sins. We learned of this when Adam first experienced chose disobedience and was hiding in the garden. Adam was convinced his God was finished with him, but God lovingly began a redemptive process for Adam in spite of what the couple allowed into the world. Discipline and punishment were handed out, but love was the driving force behind God’s approach.

Friend, God is bigger than your fears, sins, frailty and yes your understanding of Him. Rest in Him. Declare His goodness. The heroes of faith understood this, and we too must grasp the wisdom in their approach toward God.

Guide Me

Psalm 119:105 ESV  “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

God’s word comes to us in the scriptures, wise counsel, gifts of the Spirit, and providential instruction. The verse above illustrates the wisdom of the psalmist. He grasped the concept that God’s word alone could guide his path and enable him to walk in a way that would secure an eternal future for him, his contemporaries, and anyone who would believe in generations to come. Our approach toward divine revelation should be the same.

We fall woefully short of this, and sadly we live in an age of cynicism. Believers are seen as irrelevant, unscientific folks who follow fables. Our security and certainty offends in this age of insecurity and uncertainty. Very few people drawing breath know what they should be doing, where they are going, or who they should follow. Scripture insists that every person will ultimately have to make a decision between following God’s light, their own, or someone else’s. Like the world, we too were taught to sketch out a future for ourselves and forge our way ahead while ignoring God’s instructions along the way. Upon salvation, we turned from that way of life; yet, the gospel of self remains the same. Believing in one’s will power is the ultimate form of self actualization, and those who have achieved this are in high demand.

Deceived by Abundance

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. – Acts 17:26 (NIV)

My ancestors were cruelly abducted from their homeland and forced into centuries of servitude and slavery. They never shared in the material blessings of this country and so they never prospered in a worldly sense. Yet we know some of them were godly and devout in spite of their stations in life. God loved them no less. He wept for sure and intervened in time to rescue a people with unknown roots and national origins. He commanded those who believed in Him to move forward and forgive in spite of the injustice they would face. He offered eternity to those who would believe. Some did and some did not. That’s my history.

Each of you have your own history and many are no noubt privileged enough to receive resources and recognition because of your gifts, character and abilities. When we demonstrate excellence in some field, God and man reward us. That said, it is not so easily discernable how the percentages weigh out in regards to who does the rewarding, 70% man’s rewards — 30% God’s or vice versa.

I am learning and being taught daily about contentment and true rewards. I also feel that many modern day evangelicals have made human rewards and God’s the same, whether purposefully or inadvertantly through bad theology. We must stop associating the benefits of living in a rich nation with eternal blessings or worse yet, nominal Christianity with authentic faith and blessings. I have really only found joy in serving and loving others. Don’t Place Christ on Trial in Human Court

1 Corinthians 1:18-24  (Biblos.com ESV)

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

20Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preachb to save those who believe.22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Truer words have never been spoken. The Jews were familiar with the stories of Yahweh and His mighty miracles. The Greeks were skeptical and proud of it. Both unbelieving sides bombarded Christ during His day and His followers afterward with questions designed to undermine the claims of God.  Jesus never took the bait and neither should we. Paul’s explanation let us know what we can expect from the carnal minded — a demand for a sign or a long list of questions fueled by doubt, fear and innate rebellion against the things of God.

The Spirit of God is sufficient to speak to the hearts and minds of those that are true seekers. He is also aware of those that have their hearts and minds set on blasphemous thoughts toward the truth. We should be equipped to answer questions that actually seek answers, but we should never waste time entertaining mockery and non sequiturs.

We Know Him; Rejoice

John 14:8-9  (ESV Biblos.com)

8Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

What an amazing rest we have. When we ponder the wonders of God and all that He has done for us, our minds spin out of control. In the midst of this self-induced wooziness we can simply look to the scriptures and the words Jesus spoke. What he says is what the Father says. God is one and He is love. He has made Himself known to His elect and as we conclude this year and reflect on Christmas, we should determine to look at Jesus and remain secure in our eternal relationship with Him. We should strive to please Him not out of fear, but love and gratitude.

Perspectives Series Part II: The Christian Fugitive

Exodus 14:5-9 (ESV Biblos.com)

“When Pharaoh (the king of Egypt) was told that the people had fled, he and his officials changed their minds about them. They said, “What have we done? We’ve lost our slaves because we’ve let Israel go.” 6 So Pharaoh prepared his chariot and took his army with him. 7 He took 600 of his best chariots as well as all the other chariots in Egypt, placing an officer in each of them. 8 The Lord made Pharaoh (the king of Egypt) so stubborn that he pursued the Israelites, who were boldly leaving Egypt. 9 The Egyptians pursued the Israelites. Pharaoh’s army, including all his horse-drawn chariots and cavalry, caught up with them as they were setting up their camp by the sea at Pi Hahiroth facing north.”

Saints it’s important to keep the proper perspective and worldview in mind as we move throughout this life. I was once told my discussions about evil forces smaked of paranoia and that these beliefs were unscientific. Well let me ask you folks, have you ever felt like a fugitive being pursued by unseen forces that want to drag you back to a dark place? If so, be encouraged the Bible is on our side; we are not paranoid and it’s true we are being pursued. J.I. Packer has a very perceptive qoute about each individual Christian who finds Christ:

“Satan views him as an escaped prisoner and goes to war against him to try to recapture him. He tempts (i.e., tests) the Christian with malicious intent, hoping to find a weakness and betray him into a course of action that will ultimately lead him back into the prison out of which Christ brought him.” (From the book God’s Words).

We are members of a new kingdom awaiting the return of our King. The perishing, corrupt systems of this age are designed not to liberate, but rather to enslave man to the whims of an unseen dictator who has his hand in every structure that exists. It’s counterintuitive for a fugitive to give his name and stand firmly in the face of his adversaries, but this is exactly what God calls us to do. Let the chips fall where they may, but stand we will as fugitives in a world ruled by a prince who is against us. We are fugitives that give our pursuers our addresses.

Perspective Series Part I: The Fire of Covetousness

The current age is fueled by a perspective driven by irrational constructs that divorce God from creation. With that in mind, we must not let our worldview be altered by the influx of false views and suppositions. The world is driven by it’s desire to be free from laws that interfere with our desires or in other terms, God’s constraints. We covet freedom and risk damnation in the pursuit.

Deutoronmy 5:21  Biblehub.com (ESV)

“And you shall not covet…”

James 3:16  Biblehub.com (ESV)

To covet means to hold and maintain a strong desire for something you do not have. This feeling seems to be amplified when you are in close proximity to someone who has something you want. God gave us a commandment to help us guard or hearts because He knows how easily we can be led by desires born out of coveting. I will not bore you folks with the details of how many things we can possibly covet. I will instead focus on the deluded belief that we should be free from God’s laws or constraints. The devil preaches a gospel of self fulfillment and improvement that will lead to godlike qualities. We deem being made in His image and likeness insufficient and embrace the lie that we can make ourselves into something more noble and worthy than His design. Satan believed this and still preaches it with fervor.

To many this seems like a reasonable, logical conclusion.  Our carnal response to others items or opportunities is to be jealous. If the other is God, we feel the same way, some how slighted or left out of a good thing. God’s has a right to do what He will with His creation. This is an axiom we rebel against. What the fallen nature ultimately covets is soveriegnty. Satan rallied angels, Adam and Eve to his side by proclaiming loyalty to self and nothing besides. The image of an unbridled horse free from the restrictions of an arbitrary ruler was a rallying cry that proved to be very seductive. It worked then and it works now.

Are you on a self improvement, fulfillment quest? Are you jealous of the opportunities others have and their freedoms. If so, the fire will only get worse and it will never be satiated. The thing we covet the most is the desire to implement our wills as much as possible and based on this innate curse of the fall, we seek to be God and rule in His place in our lives and those around us. Saints it’s time to put out the fire of covetouseness and find God’s will for your life. Don’t get caught up in what you don’t have or what God has not supplied you with. Don’t focus on your neighbor, family member, attributes or anything that makes you feel less than others. You have everything you need to obey God today. Everything you need is within your grasp. Douse the fire with the water of the Spirit.

Faith is a Marriage of the Logical and Counterintuitive

Hebrews 11: 1-3 (ESV) Biblos.com

1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.2For by it the people of old received their commendation.3By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”

Faith is logical and faith is counterintuitive. Logic has to do with reasoning and things that can be concluded through inductive and deductive means. When dealing with the natural order of things, logic reigns supreme. Our experiences shape our approach, bolster our courage and shape those around us for future generations. We develop faith in the things we have seen and the systems that usually work for us. Socialization is the process of passing these things on to others.

When it comes to God, counterintuitive things come into play and these interventions can be disruptive in every sense of the word. God did not originate in the created order of things and in fact He has no begining, residing outside of the laws that govern creation, He simply commands us to obey when we know He is speaking. We want God to fit into our limited understanding and if He does not, we ignore His instructions or gather teachers that will shape Christ into a diety who is manageble. This is nothing more than a form of idolatry.

Logic is a gift that God has given volitional beings. It’s a useful tool that we should constantly develop. We need logic to deepen our understanding of how faith works and how God orders things in the natural and spiritual realms. We see patterns that point to a designer and this should prompt inquiry in our hearts. Our logic does not reveal God, but it should propel us to seek after Him. Paul states in Romans 1:19-20

19For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.20For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”

When the inquiry begins we start to draw near and at some point revelation is given. Revelation may appear counterintuitive and foolish to the natural senses but we need to follow what God reveals. The scriptures teach that only by faith can we grasp the concept of a Creator who made all things and came to the earth to dwell amongst us. We were not there when these things happened but we accept this revelation and it is the access point into the realm of adoption or being born again. Even the statement I just made is contrary to the reason we were shaped by.  However, we must keep in mind the fact that just because something is counterintuitive, does not mean it’s countersense or nonsense.

Here is what God is looking for in regards to faith:

5When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him,6“Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.”7And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.”8But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.9For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant,c ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”10When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israeld have I found such faith.11I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,12while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”13And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment.

The centurion’s faith was logical. He reasoned based on the testimonies of others and what he may have seen. He combined the counterintuitive and the logical and made a bold assertion. Jesus was pleased and performed a miracle based on His authority and power. The centurion was blessed because he rested his faith in divine claims.

Mark 12:24 states: Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? (ESV)

Today we have cessationists who believe the supernatural acts of God have come to an end and we have hyper charismaniacs who think they are the embodiment of all things supernatural. Both camps are victims of their own imbalance. We truly live in an unhealthy church age. You need to assess yourself. Are you a cessationists trapped in logic and doctrine, or are you at the opposite of the spectrum following every thought that enters your mind, believing it to be inspired? If you are on either end of this spectrum you need to come to a place of rest where logic and the counterintuitive come together. They come together in Christ. He created all things and can interrupt all of creation to accomplish His purpose in the world. Make room for Him in all you do. Remember to balance your leadings with scripture.  May your faith be a blessing and inspiration to everyone around you. May you be sound in doctrine, open to revelation and a leader in this age.
