Love Like Your Life Depends On It…Your Eternal Life Just May

“So what to do? Two Things, it seems to me. At least two. Use up each day. Fill it overflowing with good. Deliberately enjoy it. Two, begin now. Mend a fractured friendship, mail an overdue letter, repair a broken heart, lay aside a grievance, act on a noble impulse. As we all know, “The night cometh”.” — Lanny Henninger

John 9:4 KJVI must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Luke 12:35-40 NLT 35 “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. 37 The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! 38 He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready. 39 “Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.”

In this world where love and compassion appears to be rare commodities, we must persevere and continue these good works daily. For it doesn’t matter what is happening in the world per se; we as Believers are commanded to love and share from the well of goodness and righteousness that comes from the Spirit of God within us.

It is a commandment that we can’t overlook, no matter how hard it is or ill-received it may be.  We are to love as Christ loves us.  We are to give of ourselves as Christ gave himself on our behalf.  Hard; Yes.  Impossible: No.

It is not our church attendance or service, how large a check we may have written or how good we think we are, that makes us ready for Christ’s return.  It will be the condition of our hearts.

Matthew 7:21-23 NLT 21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Love like your life depends on it.  Your eternal life just may.

We Are The Work Of The Master’s Hands

“God did not write a book and send it by messenger to be read at a distance by unaided minds. He spoke a Book and lives in His spoken words, constantly speaking His words and causing the power of them to persist across the years.”—A. W. Tozer

Psalm 139:13-16 NKJV For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

The works of HIS hands are far greater than anything that we can or could ever do or ever imagine. We cannot out think God, nor can we out create God. Why can’t we simply accept His Will and plans for our lives?

More than that Father, you are making us better, for when you are complete, sin will never be able to take us away from you again. We love you Lord and praise you for who you are. You are the Mighty God, the Creator of All and we worship your great and Holy name. Bless us once again Father with your mercy, grace and love and help us to do the same for those you have placed around us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Grace, Mercy, Peace and Love

“May the grace of Christ our Saviour,|And the Father’s boundless love, | With the Holy Spirit’s favour,|Rest upon us from above.” — John Newton

2 John 1:3NLT Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.

This is my hope and prayer for all of us today. It is during times like we are in today, where the true value of God’s grace, mercy, peace and His love, are really made real.

GRACE: unmerited divine assistance given to God’s people, for their regeneration or sanctification. Approval, favor, reprieve. pardon.

MERCY: compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender, lenient or compassionate treatment, a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion.

So be encouraged today. You have more than you think. You are more than you can see. And God has you right were He desires you to be to show you all that He has promised to do on your behalf.

Rejoice and be glad. Our heavenly Father is in control.

Standing On The Promises Of God. There’s No Better Ground!

“God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfill all His promises . . . leading us along the best and straightest paths to Himself.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Daniel 9:4 NLT  I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed: “O Lord, you are a great and awesome God! You always fulfill your covenant and keep your promises of unfailing love to those who love you and obey your commands.

Oh, the promises of our God!  To love us, to keep us, to never leave us.  To protect our souls and to lead us to righteousness and glory that we cannot imagine.  To forgive our sins and to restore us to our rightful place with Him.

Matthew 5:2-12 records the Words of Christ, detailing the blessings and promises of God.  Note that he doesn’t mention worldly blessings that we desire, but those things that will not perish or be stolen. The things that God promises are not “man-made” but God given!

He Dwells Within Our Hearts

“Our Father dwells in tents as well as in temples, but His favorite abiding-place is in the hearts of mankind.” — J. Fred Jones

Psalm 46:1-11 NLT 1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. 2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. 3 Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! 4 A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. 5 God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. 6 The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! 7 The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. 8 Come, see the glorious works of the LORD: See how he brings destruction upon the world. 9 He causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire. 10 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” 11 The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.

While this Psalm may have been written to be sung by the Children of Israel in response to God’s continued faithfulness, mercy and blessings, I also read this as a song I can sing for my life.

God is indeed my refuge and strength and my help in times of trouble. When the earthquakes come and the storms roll in, my Heavenly Father brings peace and joy to my spirit, when I look to Him. I must remind myself daily, that God’s Spirit does indeed dwell within me and therefore, all that His Spirit provides, is available to me.

In addition, I can relate to those “nations” that make war with me. Those nations of fear, doubt, unbelief, complacency, apathy, etc. All poised to wage war with the Spirit of God in me. However, just like the Psalm states, “the Lord of Heaven’s Armies” is here with me! My God is my fortress and He can handle every weapon that my adversary can set against me.

And finally, my end is assured of victory. Not because of what I can do, but what my Heavenly Father does and who He is. He’s my fortress, He’s my shield. He’s my protector and deliverer. He’s my God.

I pray that each of you can say the same, for that is exactly who God wants to be and is to His Children. We must realize the power of God’s Holy Spirit that dwells within us. God wants us to stand, but not in our own power, but His.

Lets be obedient and give glory to God by surrendering our lives completely to Him. For when we do this, the world will know that He is God. More importantly, so will we.

May you grow in knowledge, wisdom and love of our Lord and Savior.

We Are Not Alone In The Furnance

“As sure as God puts His children in the furnace he will be in the furnace with them.” — Charles H Spurgeon

Daniel 3:21-25 NLT 21 So they tied them up and threw them into the furnace, fully dressed in their pants, turbans, robes, and other garments. 22 And because the king, in his anger, had demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, the flames killed the soldiers as they threw the three men in. 23 So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, securely tied, fell into the roaring flames. 24 But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?” “Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. 25 “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!”

Sometimes, we often find ourselves in one of life’s furnaces.  Some of our own making and some we are thrown into. But for the Believer, we never have to be there alone, unless we choose to be.  And the only way we would choose to be is due to our lack of faith in the Word of God that states He will never leave us alone.  Not in the examination room, not in the board room, not in the court room, not in your family room or even if you don’t have a room of your own, God has promised to never, ever leave you.

If we can maintain our focus on Christ, the same miracle that we read about in Daniel, is the same miracle that God will and really is, doing for us today. I think we as Believers must get this notion out of our hearts and minds that God will keep us from the “fiery furnaces of life”.  But the fact of the matter is, that is not what the Bible says.

It is when we are in the “furnace” or during the storms or traveling through the wilderness of life, that we usually can see or hear God.  Its during these times that God gets our attention and focus.  Its during our “furnace time” that our plans and ways of living are exposed to the real heat of life and they are burned to ashes.  Its only after then that we can let go and allow God to do His refining work within us.

Just remember that a clay pot is just that until it is put to the fire.  Only after that does it become valuable, a work of art, something that is precious and meaningful to the Potter.  A masterpiece that is worthy of a special place in the Potter’s home.

I pray today that we change our perspective a little.  The Bible didn’t say that the three Hebrew boys were kicking and screaming and resisting when told they were going to be thrown in the furnace.  In fact, they were bold enough to tell the King to do whatever, because either God would be with them and deliver them, or if He didn’t, they still were not going to give in to what the rest of the world(kingdom) was doing.

The time is quickly approaching for all Believers to truly stand. Running and hiding in church is no longer going to cut it.  Hiding behind the pastor’s faith or church membership or a denomination or religious duties are not going to be enough, as if it ever was.

Do you have a relationship with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit?  Is it a relationship where you can tell the storm to cease and it will?  Is it one where the fire of the furnace can’t touch you?  If not, today is the day that you can ask God to make your relationship with Him as such.  You can ask Him for a relationship with Him that will allow you to stand, no matter what.  It can be yours today, if you want it more than what you have right now.

The choice is always yours.  God is waiting.  Know that you are blessed to be faced with this choice.  For God is giving us all an opportunity to be saved and free.

We All Have A Purpose

“Man, made in the image of God, has a purpose – to be in relationship to God, who is there. Man forgets his purpose and thus he forgets who he is and what life means.” — Francis Schaeffer

Psalm 57:2 NLT I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.

Proverbs 19:21 NLT You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.

Ephesians 1:12-14 NLT 12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

Everything that God created has a purpose. So do you. When we remember this, we realize that life is worth living and living for God is our life. Or at least it should be. Because we were created in His image, our purpose for being created is to bring glory to God. Its just that simple.

However our sins of selfishness, lusts, greed and lack of love and compassion, blocks our vision of who we are and that we belong to God. Now enters Jesus, who removes the blinders and stains of all our sins in order that we can fulfill our created purpose. But God is not going to force us. We must desire Him and His purpose for our lives.

So are we fulfilling our purpose? Do we even give it a second thought or are we just going through life trying to survive? Can I tell you that living without a purpose in life is simply surviving, not living?

Now, keep in mind, that there are a lot of purposes out there. To be healthy, wealthy and wise. To have power, riches and fame. To be comfortable, safe and protected. To have more than the next person or to have all you desire. Yes, we can live for many different purposes, but what I challenge you with this morning is to live for the purpose that we were created….to love, honor and bring glory to God.

When all our fame, wealth and health fades away, what will we have? Only God is eternal and He offers us eternity with Him, in His kingdom. That’s why He created us.

May God open your eyes today and show you His unconditional love and forgiveness for you. No matter what you have done, no matter what your past may have looked like, no matter what your current situation is, God has a purpose for your life. To be with Him. All you have to do is claim His forgiveness through His son Jesus and receive His Spirit who will help you fulfill His purpose in you.

Sounds like a good deal? It is!

His Love Carries Us Through

“God never promises to remove us from our struggles. He does promise, however, to change the way we look at them.” — Max Lucado

Psalm 106:1-2 NLT Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. 2 Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him half enough?

God is worthy to be praised. His love for us, after all we do and have done, is truly amazing and humbling.  God loves us more than we realize.  I am convinced that one day we all will truly know just how much God loves us.  It will be an awesome awakening in our spirits and on that day and at that time, we will rejoice like never before.

God’s patience and love for His children, for me, is more than I can comprehend at times.  When the enemy(self), reminds me of my shortcomings and constant failures in being a child of God and how I fail Him over and over again, the Holy Spirit constantly points me to God’s word.  Scripture after scripture, that I read, speaks about God’s love for me, for us.

Can I remind you that God doesn’t always remove the consequences of our sins, but His love carries us through the consequences.  His love heals the hurt and restores our souls.  His love opens our eyes so that we can see His hand upon our lives and clears our ears so that we can hear His voice of comfort and reassurance.

This love doesn’t mean that we can do and live any old way we want. We have a responsibility to live a holy and right life through Jesus. The Holy Spirit will lead us and guide us, but if we ignore His directions, then we leave ourselves open to stumbling and falling.  When we repent, His love repairs us.  But that is the key. Sincerely turning away from our sins and disobedience to again allow God’s love to do its perfecting work in us.

Hold on to God’s hand and let Him bring you closer to Him. We are incapable of doing it on or own, no matter how good we think we are.  That was one of satan’s mistakes believing that his righteousness was sufficient or greater than God’s to where he didn’t need to be under God’s authority. It didn’t work for him and it will not work for us.

Our Chains Are Broken

“There is power in the name of Jesus… To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain.” – Tasha Cobbs

Jeremiah 30:8 NLT  8 For in that day,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will break the yoke from their necks and snap their chains.

Maybe its because I’ve watched too many crime dramas, but I recently had the thought/vision/daydream of  a group of people being physically restrained.  Their arms and legs chained behind and beneath them, with their adversary holding either a gun to their head or knife to their neck.  Their lives were being threatened.

I watched as these people struggled to save their lives.  They just didn’t sit there bound, but tried any and everything they could to get free.

The image changed to a church.  Where I saw many people at the alter, on their knees, shackled and chained.  There were men with weapons, threatening and ridiculing them.  The difference in this image was that the people were not fighting to get free.  They were just allowing their tormentors to do what they wanted.

I heard myself ask the Lord, why was this happening?  Why in the church? The response was the following:

Kamagra in Australia is the medicine used by many people viagra online prices all across the world. The chains that bind them are not real.  They are make-believe. A lie, a trick to keep them bound.  The tormentors are powerless. They cannot threaten their lives because their weapons are just for show.

I then asked, why are the people remaining bound and shackled?  The Lord then replied, that all they need to do is stand up. Stand up in faith in Me, in the power that has been given them.  They will then realize that I have removed all the chains and made all weapons of their adversaries, ineffective as long as they remain in me.

Isaiah 54:17 NASB 17 “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper;

As always, I recognize that this vision/dream, was meant for me personally.  I share it today in hopes that it may be of encouragement for someone also.

Galatians 3:22 NLT 22 But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ.

Let us stand in the power and might of Christ through faith. For He has broken our chains.

A Relationship With Jesus…Priceless. Its Even Eternal

“Without an encounter with Jesus, all we have is religion.” – Pastor John McDermott, Morningstar Church

Romans 4:13-16NLT 13 Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith. 14 If God’s promise is only for those who obey the law, then faith is not necessary and the promise is pointless. 15 For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it. (The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!) 16 So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift.

Throughout the New Testament, everyone that Christ encountered was changed one way or another. Those who received Him, received a new life. Those who rejected Him, continued in their life of fruitlessness and futility, trying to live without any real standard.  Even those who tried to follow the Law of God, was unable to fully meet that standard,  In fact, it couldn’t be done.

In His infinite love for us, God provided a way for His creation to have a more complete and better covenant with Him. A more personal and promised filled covenant than one based on following a list of rules.  This new covenant was based on love and intimacy between the Creator and His creation.

Hebrews 8:6-7 NLT But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises. If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need for a second covenant to replace it.

Jesus is the conduit of God’s promises. Religion can never provide what only Jesus can.  Jesus can only do; the only one who has done, all that is necessary to restore us to a right relationship with God and thereby providing us a life worth living. A life of purpose. A life of hope.

May you seek after a personal encounter with Christ. You will never be the same.
