Most of the time when I look back at the things that have occurred in my life, I recognize that there have been good moments and not so good ones. I have accomplished things that I set out to do and there are things I did not quite get done at all or completed in the way I would have liked. There were times of doubt, worry, fear and occasions of hope, joy and victory. Basically, what I am saying is that this is life. These things are typical to most of us.
As many things that occur over the course of our lives, there is still one constant: God is ever present. His love is always surrounding us and available. His Spirit is active at all times; indwelling, filling, comforting, guiding and teaching. And of course, God’s mercy and grace is plentiful, each and every day.
What I would like to share with you at this time, is to remember, to acknowledge, to know, just how blessed we are. No matter how bad our circumstances and situations are, they will never be bigger or greater than our God. I know they appear to be at times, but that is a lie and trick of the enemy.
I know it is nearly impossible for us to walk around with a smile on our faces at all times, but it IS possible for us to walk around with God’s love in our hearts. It IS possible to call on God for everything. Even our smallest requests do not bother Him and He hears us each and every time we call.
And finally, we must DESIRE the things that God desires. We know what He desires because He has shared it with us through His Word, His Son and His Spirit. He did not leave us ignorant, or without hope or without help.
A co-worker once told me something that God showed him that was so profound, that I would like to leave it with you. He said, “the wilderness is not meant for us to live in. Oh we may have to travel through it from time to time, but we are not meant to stay there. There is no or very little life sustaining substance in the wilderness. It is not for us, especially God’s Children”.

There’s a lot in this theme, but that may be for another devotional. I just want to say, that God loves you. You are His special creation that is worth more to Him than anything He has created. Lift up your head and heart and simply thank Him for another week, another day, another moment, another opportunity to be thankful and grateful for His love.
May God, richly bless you. Foe He IS in control. He ALWAYS has been. He ALWAYS will be.

I John 2: 15-17 NLT 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
